TL;DR

Endspire’s transit system is a layered network of skyships, public conduits, and personal arcane movement. Airspace is tiered and licensed, and unauthorized flight is both common and dangerous.

Transit Categories

🛳️ Large Craft

  • Merchant vessels, trade barges, skyships
  • Dock exclusively at the Aether Docks
  • Require official documentation and docking permits
  • Subject to cargo inspection and priority scheduling

🚝 Public Transit

  • Magitech metro rail operates along tier rings and vertical lifts
  • Reliable in Middle and Top Tiers; sporadic in Bottom Tier
  • Public stops enforced by civic clocks and arcane gates

🪂 Medium/Private Flight

  • Flying carts, sky taxis, courier gliders
  • Require license and registration
  • Includes guild-controlled transport lines

🧹 Personal Arcane Travel

  • Brooms, glider-cloaks, jetpacks, wings, and flight spells
  • No license required, but must follow sky lane laws
  • “Drift violations” are common — and punishable

Enforcement and Oversight

  • Skyward Wardens — Elite sky enforcers; patrol known transit zones, intercept violators
  • Dockmasters — Oversee official skyports, regulate trade flow and schedule conflicts
  • Transit Office — Assigns licenses, investigates airspace corruption or sabotage

Offenders face:

  • Confiscation of vehicle or gear
  • Suspension of docking rights
  • Forced descent or arrest via arcane tethers

Smuggling and Illicit Flight

Despite regulation, unauthorized flight persists:

  • Black platforms float untethered on the city fringe
  • Sky smugglers use terrain cover or magical stealth
  • Courier cults offer protection-for-price services to illegal fliers

High winds, magic distortion, and sudden anomalies make illegal flight a high-risk gamble.
