TL;DR
Floating ruins and drift-tech orbiting Endspire, the Skyreach Fringe is a strange graveyard of forgotten magitech, cracked platforms, and arcane anomalies. Few dare visit, and fewer return intact.
Overview
The Skyreach Fringe is not a single place, but a halo of places—floating wreckage, fractured research platforms, and ancient constructs orbiting Endspire in loose, decaying tethers of arcane debris. These remnants are the shattered bones of a time when the city's technological reach defied even the concept of gravity.
From a distance, the Fringe appears like a band of drifting satellites and glowing shards slowly tumbling around Endspire’s spiretop. Closer inspection reveals forgotten machines, hollow temples, and fractured data-vaults locked in distorted physics and unpredictable energy currents.
Features
- Ruins of Research Platforms – The largest masses are the remnants of ancient laboratories or sky temples, now dead or repeating ghostly processes.
- Fringe Lighthouses – Strange organic-metal towers still broadcasting to no one.
- Unmoored Constructs – Silent golems and machine remnants drift without anchor.
- Anomalous Fields – Temporal and gravitational inconsistencies warp time and motion.
Cultural/Political Role
Although technically under no one’s direct jurisdiction, the Skyreach Fringe remains loosely claimed by the Magical University and fringe-based collectors. The Council pretends it does not exist unless political pressure forces comment.
Notable NPCs
- None currently known to reside within the Fringe.
- Individuals who explore it rarely return—or return changed.
