Orven Duskthorn, now known simply as the Bound Emperor, remains the city’s foremost political symbol. Though physically diminished by age, his mind remains sharp, and his presence alone continues to sway decisions in the Council of Chains.

Once a young soldier, he rose to prominence during the fractured years of Endspire’s history, becoming the unifying force that quelled civil unrest and repelled external invaders. In the aftermath, he was reluctantly crowned Emperor, and his reign ushered in an age of peace, prosperity, and cautious unity.

He acts primarily as:

• Arbiter of council disputes — not a king in the traditional sense, but a neutral voice.
• Symbol of stability — while other factions rise and fall, his rule ensures continuity.
