The Bottom Gates include the two primary ground-level exits from Endspire: Portgate and Lower Wilds Gate. These serve as the city’s external arteries for land-based access—commercial and political.
The Bottom Gates form the two key entry and exit points to and from the city at ground level. Both are heavily monitored and structurally reinforced, yet they serve different functions and communities. Portgate is bustling and bureaucratic, while the Lower Wilds Gate is a quieter, tribal corridor.
Portgate
Located on the western edge of the city, Portgate is the primary access point for merchants, caravans, and official traffic. It is directly connected to the Ground Docks and acts as the primary checkpoint for trade.
Lower Wilds Gate
Found on the eastern fringe, the Lower Wilds Gate is smaller and more discreet. It primarily serves traveling tribes or sanctioned missions into the surrounding untamed zones. Security is present, but policy remains more fluid here—often criticized or supported depending on the administration.
These gates reflect two sides of Endspire’s bottom-tier politics: state-sanctioned commerce and strained tribal diplomacy. While Portgate represents the legal machinery of the city’s economic backbone, the Lower Wilds Gate remains a contentious symbol of old-world negotiation and ongoing external tensions.
