Internal checkpoints separating the Middle Tier from both the Top and Bottom. Strategic, heavily regulated, and constantly watched.
The Middle Gates control access between Endspire’s most heavily trafficked tiers. A mix of vertical lifts, stairwells, and magitech-controlled portals enforce structured passage, allowing limited and traceable movement between the Top, Middle, and Bottom of the city.
The Top Gate leads upward toward the Top Tier, the seat of power and elite residency. Crossing this threshold requires citizenship validation and typically a permit or invitation. Guards wear ceremonial armor infused with magitech sigils that pulse gently with authority.
The Bottom Gate provides downward access to the city’s industrial zones and living quarters of the lower class. While easier to pass through, it remains under active surveillance by gate scribes and ward-enforcers.
The Middle Gates are both literal and symbolic divides. For many, the difficulty of passage mirrors the social and economic divide embedded in Endspire’s architecture. Permits, bribes, and black market channels are all part of the narrative here.
