The Ground Docks are a vital but chaotic river-based trade entryway into Endspire's Bottom Tier. Active only during wet seasons, they serve travelers and merchants seeking cheaper access than sky or arcane transport routes.
Built into the edge of Endspire’s lowest tier, the Ground Docks are a rough collection of piers, loading ramps, and seasonal landing sites that accommodate low-cost cargo and foot traffic during high river flow.
They connect directly to the [Portgate], forming one of the two official ground-level entrances to the city. During operational months, they're bustling with activity—fishermen, caravaners, refugees, and rural traders all converge here.
The docks are looked down upon by many city-dwellers as unrefined or risky, but they represent a key lifeline for non-citizens and trade with the lower plains. Their seasonal operation means entire communities plan their migrations or deliveries around river patterns.
Disputes at the docks are common and often settled quickly or violently. A loose affiliation of dockhands and enforcers is rumored to take bribes for scheduling or turning a blind eye.
